Maximum working area. Almost any electrode shape. Complex welds in a single cycle.
The Wide Press Plate is an optional accessory for FIAB 860 XL and FIAB 960 XL high-frequency welding machines, designed to make full use of the available working area. Its enlarged pressing surface allows operators to use specially shaped electrodes or complete electrode assemblies, enabling multiple welds to be performed simultaneously.
Unlike standard solutions that use a single straight electrode, the Wide Press Plate allows operators to position custom-shaped electrodes or multiple electrodes beneath the pressing surface.
These can include curved, circular, polygonal, irregularly shaped, or specially designed electrodes tailored to a specific product.
As a result, even complex components that would normally require several separate welding operations can be welded in a single working cycle, without repeatedly repositioning the material.
The wide Press Plate is available as an optional accessory for two FIAB welding machine models:
FIAB 860 XL – Pressing surface: 1250 × 220 mm
Maximum use of the working area – The enlarged pressing surface accommodates complex and custom-designed electrode configurations.
Freedom to create different weld shapes – Supports electrodes with irregular geometries tailored to specific product requirements.
Multiple welds at once – Electrode assemblies allow several welds to be completed simultaneously during a single cycle.
Reduced production time – Fewer welding operations and less material repositioning improve manufacturing efficiency.
Greater repeatability – Performing multiple welds without repositioning the material helps maintain consistent alignment and positioning.
The wide Press Plate expands the capabilities of FIAB 860 and FIAB 960 welding machines beyond standard straight welds, making it possible to manufacture components with significantly more complex geometries.
This solution is particularly valuable in high-volume production, where reducing the number of welding cycles directly improves productivity and process repeatability.
The ability to use individually designed electrodes makes it possible to adapt the machine to specific manufacturing requirements, without being limited to standard weld shapes.
The compatibility of a particular electrode or electrode assembly depends on its dimensions and the technical specifications of the welding machine.
